Vescovi Exterior Scene
A Forgotten Italian Villa - designs inspired by the Villa dei Vescovi
The eighth and final design, is an exterior scene —- the outside of the interior scene. The exterior is rough, lit by sunshine dappled by a shady tree.
As I made these designs, I spent a lot of time thinking about lighting - soft or harsh. And about shade and shadows. I want to explore more variety in my shading and shadowing - colors, textures, uneven-ness, harsh or soft, as I continue to make designs and explore as an artist.
Exterior Scene design with coordinating fabrics. The Forgotten Italian Villa quilt fabric collections features designs inspired by Villa de Vescovi near Padua (Padova), Italy. Available at my Spoonflower shop on cotton quilting fabric at 18 inch repeat, and on wallpaper at 24 inch repeat, which is perfect for dollhouses at 1:12 scale. Also nice as a hero or art panel in a quilt. Please keep in mind that if you purchase on wallpaper, you need at least 2 ft of wallpaper. The “sample” size is only 1 ft of length and you will only get half the picture (vertically).
